Der Forschungsstandort Schweiz braucht nicht nur bessere Daten. Wichtig sind auch der geregelte Zugang zu bestehenden Datensätzen, sowie klare gesetzliche Grundlage für deren Nutzung. Zu diesem Fazit kommt die Podiumsdiskussion der Swiss Data Alliance vom 29. März 2023.

  • ACCESS POINT: Access to certain data should be via an independent body that decides on a case-by-case basis - similar to applications for research funding.

  • DATA PROTECTION: Linked data sets, such as those used in research, are very sensitive. Authorities should not have access to them to prevent the emergence of a transparent citizen.

  • DECENTRAL DATA: Research needs access to data - but it should remain stored decentrally. Interoperability is essential.

  • PIONEERING AUSTRIA: It's not just Scandinavia: Statistics Austria opened a new, secure portal with microdata for research in summer 2022.
