The Swiss Data Alliance is committed to a constructive data policy at the interface between research, business and civil society.
The Swiss Data Alliance is an independent think tank for data policy. We are financed by membership fees from individuals, companies and associations, as well as by selective research and publication projects. We expressly renounce membership of administrative organizations.

How it all began
The Swiss Data Alliance emerged from the Opendata.ch association in 2017. The basic document from the founding year describes the motivation for this step as follows: "In order for data to be used successfully as a resource in Switzerland in the coming years and for the benefit of society as a whole, a future-oriented and broad-based data policy is needed."
Management Board
The Board of Directors manages the activities of the Swiss Data Alliance.
It is made up of elected members of the association.
