Opinion on the E-ID Act

In its statement, the Swiss Data Alliance emphasizes the need for a comprehensive ecosystem of electronic evidence.

The Swiss Data Alliance would like to emphasize once again that we strongly support a state e-ID and its rapid introduction. In order to remain competitive and future-oriented, Switzerland needs a broad-based and widespread digital identity. We therefore also question the voluntary nature of a state E-ID. In our opinion, every citizen of Switzerland must have an electronic identity. Only in this way will it be possible to switch from a digital first to a digital only principle in the near future and become a digital nation with an efficient and digitalized administration more quickly.
