Federal Councillor Albert Rösti is committed to the Swiss Data Space Forum

The "Swiss Data Space Forum" will take place for the first time on October 30. It is a cooperation between business, academia and civil society. The Federal Administration is supporting the conference as an implementation partner and is prominently represented in the presentations and panels. Federal Councillor Albert Rösti will open the event with a video message.

A data room is a legal, organizational and technical framework for the shared use and reuse of data by multiple stakeholders. The concept is a central component of the package of measures adopted by the Federal Council on December 8, 2023. It aims to better exploit the potential of data in Switzerland.

The "Data Space Forum" will be the first national conference on this topic to be held on October 30, 2024 on the HSLU campus in Rotkreuz. The event is an important step for Switzerland on the road to trustworthy digital infrastructures, as Federal Councillor Albert Rösti will explain in a video welcome message. The forum was initiated by the Swiss Data Alliance, an independent think tank for data policy, and the digital umbrella organization digitalswitzerland.

Federal government as implementation partner

The Federal Administration is participating in the conference as an implementation partner via the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM). Other federal stakeholders are represented in the presentations and panels, for example on the topics of agriculture, mobility, health and energy. The event is co-sponsored by the civil society organization Opendata.ch, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences(SATW), the SWICO association and the companies Accenture, Beyond Civic and Zetamind.
