Data for better mobility: use cases for MODI

In Switzerland, a national mobility data infrastructure (MODI) is intended to help make transportation more efficient. In four workshops, the Swiss Data Alliance , together with the Federal Office of Transport and various stakeholders, helped to develop concrete use cases for the first phase of the MODI.

The workshops dealt with four main topics with the respective stakeholders:

  1. Mobility and traffic data for protection, rescue and crisis management

  2. Mobility and traffic data for road transport service providers

  3. Mobility and traffic data for logistics service providers

  4. Mobility and traffic data for passenger mobility service providers

On June 24, 2024, Federal Councillor Albert Rösti discussed the results with selected stakeholders - including the Swiss Data Alliance- at the MODI round table.
